A little history:

  • From 1978 to 2006 the PEI Region of the Canadian Red Cross organized the “Red Cross Relay” with the help of many volunteers.
  • In 2007 a team of volunteers took over organization of the event under the new title “Red Island Relay”.
  • In 2011 Cycling PEI took over the event and are looking to grow the event and keep it operating.
  • We want to offer a first class event and get back some of it’s former prestige as one of the premier sporting events on PEI.
