History

From 1978 to 2006 the PEI Region of the Canadian Red Cross organized the “Red Cross Relay” with the help of many volunteers. In 2007 a team of volunteers took over organization of the event under the new title “Red Island Relay”.  In 2011 the reins were passed once again to Cycling PEI.

The 2012 Overall Fastest time was PEI Speed Inc. with at time of 3:02:36. The team consisted of Jonathan Ross, Cory Jay,  Billy MacDonald, J.F. Bader, Peter Toombs, and  Allan Maceachern.

Major draw prize winners from the 2012 event were:

1st prize – Luke Hansen – 2 West Jest tickets to anywhere in the world

2nd prize – Les MacKay – A brand new Giant Bike from Sporting Intentions

3rd prize – Sandra MacKay – A $250 gift certificate to Great Hobbies
